AGILITY CLASSES

Whether you want to compete in an agility trial or just have some fun exercising your dog on obstacles, agility classes at Family Dog Club are a great way to bond with your best friend. 

Our next 5-week agility session will start in January 2024. Save your spot by emailing Rita at familydogclub@hotmail.com with your name, your dog's name, your phone number and the class you want to take.

All breeds and all levels of experience are welcome. From the smallest Chihuahua to the largest Great Dane, agility builds confidence and offers a great workout for both of you. We only use positive reinforcement methods to fit you and your dog’s unique personality. 

Family Dog Club offers three spacious rings with regulation agility equipment, including  American Kennel Club (AKC), North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC), United Kennel Club (UKC), United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA) and Canine Performance Event (CPE). 

Whatever venue of agility you prefer, Family Dog Club has the right equipment for you and your dog to learn and practice on.

CLASSES FOR EVERY LEVEL

You’ll have a blast learning what your dog can do if you take a class with Rita Phoenix, who has spent more than two decades training hundreds of dogs along with their owners. Classes meet one night a week for five weeks, and you can move up levels when you and your dog are ready. See Class Descriptions.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Rita Phoenix
 Rita started Family Dog Club in 1997. She’s introduced hundreds of dogs and their owners to the wonderful sport of agility. Rita is just as eager to work with beginners as she is to help more experienced handlers refine their skills. She makes training fun for you and your dog and keeps classes small so you receive personalized attention. Rita has won multiple titles at the elite level and can help you meet your agility goals, whether you want to get some exercise for you and your bestie or compete at the highest level. Her three beagles, Ivy May, PDQ and Zippity Do Da, are all agility champions. Her newest addition, Ruby Roo, is a mini Australian Shepherd. 

Brandy Bishop

Brandy started training her first agility dog, a Westiepoo named Roy Boy, under Rita Phoenix at Family Dog Club in 2000. She graduated to a Shetland Sheepdog named Whisper followed by a rescue named Angel, an initially anxious dog who reached NATCH (NADAC Agility Trial Champion) status at the age of 12. Brandy teaches the Advanced agility class and private lessons. She's pictured here with her Sheltie, Nox and has a new Aussie pup named Katniss.
